WHY READING IS IMPORTANT?

For readers

Reading books help us to learn from the past, the present and in predicting future, from the people that have done something that we are about to do. It also expands our mind knowing who we are? What is good for us? How does the world around us behave and work?

Reading books encourages us to raise the bar even higher so that our sparkling ideas or thinking can inspire the world through our writing. This also inspires everyone in the process when he found that his ideas or thinking are in high demand.

It can create a snow ball effect on every reader to ignite an interest to read. Reading affirms and improves one’s cognitive skills in general but essentially in independence, original, creative and critical thinking skills. By reading he will come to know what other people are meditating upon, and this grows a sense to understand which field is working and which is not.

For writers

Each and every writer has his own writing style, though they use same words and same language but the expertise differ and it creates his writing persona. This writing persona comes from reading a finished product. If he wants to write about particular genre then he must be familiar with that genre before, so that he can improve and excel in that. Also it will make his writing very interesting to read.

Any writer who reads variety books of another writer then he get some new ideas and multiple viewpoint, some of them may favour his writing and some may not. But these ideas and multiple viewpoints can be used while writing. The writer who read an interesting book then there is more chances he can learn and make his writing very attractive in which reader take a deep dive and never comes back with leaving any word unread.

When reading books of different topics, we get aware of the possibilities of use of language and keywords that make writing very enjoyable to read. This reading also makes us confident enough to free our self from grammatical superstitions.

My confession on reading

Till before one year, I did not read any book except my academic books. But I met some of my friends who read a lot even with academic books and they got good marks while in school. And so many people suggested me to read. So, recently I started to take time for reading. I read first book which was gifted me by one of my friends. It was Rich Dad Poor Dad. I enjoyed that book even learnt so many things. As this book is based on rich people and poor people, a comparison is illustrated, also writer emphasised on the psychology of both type of people. I learnt so many things but I was amazed with the concept of asset and liability. Though, i studied it in my graduation but this time I got a clear picture with example. My reading which started from this book is still going on.

Reading books of different critics will make us learn different cultures, histories, about countries and understand to look at things from different point of view even if we do not agree with the explained point of view, being empathetic, known interesting trivia, about intricacies of life and all this while just sitting on our favourite sofa or laying on our bed.
