EBONY PART 6

Anoop came back to his home. It was morning. He took breakfast and prepared himself for his classes. He was happy to go to class after some days. It did not affect him as there was very less classes in final year. Most of the students focus on his project and placement.

In the class while reading the two states book, one of his friends asked,“Bro will you pass the engineering exam through this book!”

Anoop: I have already passed. Do you want to learn from me!

Friend: No, I don’t want to pass engineering exam only but also GATE exam.

The teacher came inside the class. Anoop put the book in his bag and brought out other books.

Nisha was also attending her classes in her college. She was missing Anoop and so she called him. She talked to him. But she wanted to focus on studies and GATE exam. She had to do study for her engineering exam as well as for GATE exam.

It was last months of college days. Everyone was feeling emotional, taking pictures and discussing the ways to get in touch with each other. While some of the students was discussing their future.

It was first May when Anoop got his offer letter. He was going to shift in Delhi for his job. He accepted the offer and was very happy to tell his mother. Her mother was also happy. Anoop was exited for the job. He didn’t want to go for government exam preparation. He did not want to study anymore. He chose to work.

Nisha was busy in her study. She decided that she would stay in Lucknow after college and study for Gate and IES exam. She didn’t get placement from her college. She wanted to study further. She did not want to go for a private job.

They both talked to each other sometimes. They talked on phone call and sometime on social media. Anoop told her that he got offer later and had to move to Delhi.

After some months, exam ended and college finished. Anoop moved to delhi with all his luggage. He became tenant in a house. His office was almost ten kilometers far from his house. He arranged his luggage and took rest. From next day he had to go to office.

It was morning 7:15. He woke up and prepared himself for office. It was first day of office. He didn’t eat anything but thought to buy bananas on the way.

He reached the office at 9:10. The office was in a big building. There were so many offices in this building. His office was in 7th floor. It was very furnished and cozy to work. He was directed to meet H.R. and fulfill some formalities. He looked around and moved to pantry for a glass of water. In the H.R.’s cabin he fulfilled all the formalities. He was sitting at his desk. He met some of people around his desk and asked about the work and about the company. In the office there were both males and females. Everyone shared the name of the city from where they belonged. Anoop told that he came from Kanpur. With all the talk and no work the day came to evening. Anoop and most of the employees left the office.

In the evening, Anoop called Nisha and told everything about his office. Nisha was very happy. Anoop asked her to come to Delhi for her Gate coaching and IES preparation. Nisha did not answer him but said to see the time. Nisha asked about his lunch, dinner and breakfast. The conversation went on. Nisha felt that Anoop wasn’t talking like he was when he came to meet her. She also felt that he was not as caring as he was before. She felt very emotional. She wanted to do something big. She for a while thought to go to Delhi for her preparation. But she was in doubt that she might not concentrate on her study. As Anoop told before that he was settled now. He did not want to do anything. But Nisha had so many things to do. She was in her home with parents. She was still suffering from some diseases. She still did not have much friends to talk to. She didn’t have anyone to guide her. That night she did not sleep but thinking all the time.

It was second day of Anoop’s office. In his first day he reached late so he tried to attend his office on time onwards. He again bought some bananas in the way. In the office there was no work. He all the time talked to the people of his neighboring desk. He met with some girls today. Even he liked one of them. Her name was Saifali. She was from Delhi. She joined the office some days before. Anoop saw her as she was not much slim nor much fatty, fair complex. Her hair was open and curly. She was wearing jeans and t shirt.

She did not talk much with Anoop. They were less familiar with each other. But Anoop always tried to talk to her. She lived in Janakpuri West.

Anoop was still late to reach office. Nowadays he cared himself so much. He improved his dressing sense; he bought an expensive perfume, hair gel, smart watch and so many things that could make him attractive. He always tried to impress Saifali. He preferred talking in girl’s circle more than boy’s. Whenever he went for tea or coffee he always asked Saifali. If she wanted the coffee, she most of the time denied it.

Anoop did not talk much with Nisha. Though Nisha called him everyday and message him. He sometime didn’t respond to her calls or pretend to be busy in office work.
