His thoughts on women were derogatory try but he wrote in this book as, a good woman is one who is pious, expert in household chores, true and faithful to her husband.

We will learn while reading the book...

We should educate us every time. An educated person gets respect everywhere. Education can beat beauty and youth.

A person should not be too honest. As straight trees are cut first and honest people are screwed first.

Before you start some work, always ask yourself three questions – Why am I doing it, What the results might be and Will I be successful. Only when you think deeply and find satisfactory answers to these questions, go ahead.

A wicked wife, a false friend, a saucy servant and living in a house with a serpent in it are nothing but death.

God dwells not in the wooden, or stone or earthen idols. His abode is in our feeling, our thoughts. It is only through the feeling that we deem God existing in these idols.

“As soon as as the fear approaches near, attack and destroy it.”

As compared to males the females eat twice the amount of food, possess cleverness four times, display courage six times and exhibit lustful desires eight times.”

“If you were to choose between an evil person and a snake to keep company with, opt for the snake. Because the snake will bite you only in self-defense but the evil person will put a bite for any reason and any time or always.”

"He who has wealth has friends.”

A man must give particularly careful consideration to marriage, for any decision taken in haste can ruin his life forever. He must always marry into a family which enjoys an equal status in society. A girl may have no illustrious lineage, then he must not hesitate to marry her, for beauty is merely skin deep. But even if a girl is a ravishing beauty, if she belong to a unworthy family, he must not accept her as his wife!

When a man is deceived by the notion that a woman has fallen in love with him, he is unaware of the fact that he has become a mere puppet in her hands!

A frivolous woman who prattles incessantly, pays a great deal of attention to the gestures of others, and constantly muses over other persons, cannot maintain her fidelity. She is bound to indulge in sexual affairs with other men.

A moment of patience in a moment of anger can help us avoid a thousand moments of sorrow.

Rear up your son affectionately till he is five year old then admonish him strictly for next ten years. When he turns sixteen, start treating him as your friend.

A wise, well educated and worthy son alone is enough to bring glory to the family like the lonely moon is enough to benighted the night with charms!!

Do not hesitate in getting nectar even from poison if it be available and gold even from the filth. Accept good knowledge even from a pariah and good girl even from a low family.

A real friendship is based on unconditional love and affection. If the moment demands a sacrifice, then a true friend would not hesitate to give up his life.

Shun a friend speaking fair on the face but acting foul in the absence like the pitcher filled with venom but having milk at the opening.

There is no present or future of the lazy.

The biggest suspense of life is that you don’t know who is praying for you and who is playing with you.

One who is in search of knowledge should give up the search of pleasure and the one who is in search of pleasure should give up the search of knowledge.

A man is great by deeds, not by birth.

One should always think twice before developing a close relationship with a woman, a preceptor and a king.

Just as a mirror reflects a man's face, his personality is reflected in his choice of friends. One must always be careful in forming friendships and acquaintances, for one’s friends, are in a way, an extension of one’s inner inclinations and tendencies.

Children are similar to clay. The form they ultimately assume, will depend on how they were moulded in their youth.

No man can escape the consequences of his actions. One’s actions will chase one like a persistent shadow.

Money must be given away only to the men of virtue. They are the only ones who truly deserve it
