BROKEN BIRTHDAY AND THE BOY: PART 2

Mrs. Parul also reminded the days in college when she and her friends used to celebrate their birthday from midnight to next midnight. They used to go to dinner outside. There was so much fun that time. She was feeling very lonely. She received a call from her college friend, Surbhi. She felt excitement in her voice. She studied in Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Sardar Patel Institute of Technology (SPIT). They were talking so happily. They talked about planning for mass bunk, talking in library, gossips in canteen and so many things that they enjoy doing in college.  Her friend said, "I know, you and your husband must have plan for this day. So what are you going to do to make it a special day?"

She said, "He is in office. But he will come early. I planned so much for this day like going on drive, having dinner outside, eating ice cream etc. other than celebrating my birthday." Her friend said, "He should spend this day with you." Mrs. Parul did not say much but said bye. At the last moment she felt sad. She did not have want to pretend and tell lie to anyone. She was new in the building, Nalanda Apartment. She did not know much people. She did not want to invite anyone. She planned this day to spend only with her husband.

She did not want to make any think for lunch for her. She went inside kitchen and picked the crunchy masala dosa. She took out coconut chutney and sambhar from fridge and started eating it.

Her phone rang. She picked and said "Hello". It was Mr. Subramanian. He said, "Parul, I may be little late there is a meeting with international client. You please order thinks for decoration and cake. I will try to finish as early as possible." She did not say anything but kept listening. She kept quiet for a moment. She looked at her plans for the day. She did not order anything. She changed her clothes and locked the flat. She thought to go to market to buy things. It would be better way to avoid loneliness for her. The market was around hundred meters far from her Nalanda Apartment.

Mrs. Parul walked to market and came back with the things she needed. She was holding cake in her right hand and a bag which was filled with some snacks and decoration items in her left hand. While entering the apartment, she saw that lift was about to close. She rushed to lift and asked the boy inside to keep it open. She entered the lift. She was breathing fast. She thanked the boy. The boy said, "Welcome ma'am." The boy was staring at her. Mrs. Parul and the boy were standing in lift. The boy again asked, "Can I help you in picking the bag?" She didn’t find the boy decent one so she refused him. She tried to push the button to stop the lift. The boy again asked, "Allow me to push the button." She did not reply anything but pushed the button and came out of the lift. She quietly moved to her flat number four. While entering the key in the door she saw that the boy moved to flat number two. The boy was also watching Mrs. Parul. She entered her flat and turned to close the door, she saw that the boy was still staring at her. She closed the door.
