NANI'S HOME PART 3

He tried to walk slowly. He also massaged with his hand on his leg. He felt good and asked his brother to go. They again started their journey. In the path, they were going on, was very quiet and no person was seen. The path was between crop fields. They almost travelled for more than half of the journey only half kilometre was remaining. They were now entering the village. Shyam saw a playground near a government school. He was surprised.

Shyam: Bhaiya, see how big is the play ground. Some people are playing cricket.

Ram: Yes, I knew. Last time, I came with the mother then people were playing volleyball. I came to this play ground.

Shyam: But it is not in our village or near to our school. I will play every day.

Ram: We may not have playground but we have so many empty spaces and a plot available beside our home where we used to play gilli-danda, kho- kho, cricket etc.

With all these talks they reached to their nani’s home.

Ram kept the cycle on the hut that was out of the home and hold Shyam’s hand. They both reached to nana’s khaat(daybed). Nana was sitting outside the home. He was happy and surprised to see them. They both took blessing of their Nana by touching his feet. Nana also blessed them and kissed on their cheek. He called Nani who was running a chakki, crushing wheat to make floor.

Nana: Shakuntala come and see who came to our home?

Nani: You know that I am working then why you are calling me?

Nana: Come out, see our maternal grand sons came to our home.

Nani came out and saw Ram and Shyam. She was also surprised to see them. They both were sitting on khaat, they stood up and took blessing from their Nani my touching her foot.

Nani also loved them. She took Shyam in her lap and kissed him. She asked them to sit. She brought two glass of water and peda(a kind of sweet). Nana and Nani asked for their mother and father, about crops etc.

They ate peda and drank water. Nani asked them to go inside home and meet Mama(maternal uncle) and mami (maternal aunt). They both picked his bag and went inside home. They met their Mama and mami. Their Mama was reading a book and mami was preparing tea. They both said Namaste. Their mama stood up from khaat and asked them to sit. He was also happy that they came by their own. Mami said, “You came at very right time, tea is about to prepare”

They both also asked about their father and mother and their health, study and which way they came. With all this they took tea and Parle-g biscuit. They also asked for Preeti and Raj.

Mama: They went to tuition.

Shyam: Bhaiya, let’s go to terrace. I want to see downward from there.

Ram: No, but wait for Preeti and Raj to come.

Sometime passed, Preeti and Raj came. They met with them. They went to terrace. They saw so many things downward. In Nani’s home, there were so many plants beside her home and one big pond in front of the home. In the back side of the home, there was a road.
