CWC #9 DIRECTNESS AND AUTHENTICITY IN CREATIVE WRITING

SOURCE : PIXABAY

Directness is present everywhere, it is in real life and also in creative writing. Still there are so many barriers that forbade us and make writer inexpressive but clarity can take place and the content became directly expressed and satisfying to the reader.

It looks easy to achieve directness but it needs techniques, exercise and application with refinement. You as a writer have to have a good grasp on language. It is the power of your content. You have to experiment with your language to discover its form and application in your content.

Authenticity comes when you have a strong desire to express yourself, you have an urge to tell something to the world. This is the basic process which force you to write. You have to write what you think or feel. Through this way you did not expect that your content will reach all over the world but you express your thought. Every writer, who writes for poetry, short story, novel or drama tries to express his thoughts and feeling. His goal of life can be achieved though his experience, feeling and meditations.

Authenticity for every writer means that he should believe what he is writing if he expects from his readers to believe his writing. Everyone thinks to succeed in this and tries to write accordingly but very few writers succeed over long time.

One of the things that forbade us to write is our experience of a particular thing that we try to portray which we actually did not lived or felt. Everyone grows in a particular society, place or environment etc. So we have more experience of our society whenever we try to write about the things we did not experience we may fail or our writing will not satisfy or readers. Though, some of the great writers succeed in writing such thinks through their long experience of writing.
