CWC #8 CLARITY AND TRANSPARENCY IN CREATIVE WRITING

To make your writing clear, you have to choose a subject on which you want to be clear. You can ask yourself, about what you want to clear? You cannot write clear content unless you do not have clarity in your mind or in your subject of writing. Engineering, for example, is concerned with the machines and technologies. The working of machine can be understood if you have basic knowledge of science.

Clarity comes from proper education. It depends on knowledge. If you do not have knowledge of particular subject, your content will not be satisfying to your readers but moreover lead to confusion. So do not write about the things you do not know. Before start writing, choose the subject and get each and every knowledge pertains to it.

Clarity comes if you have concrete definition of your subject on which you want to write. It may not work in your writing, if you have confidence that you know everything about your particular subject unless you provide the information to your readers more than they know. They will be ready to read each words that you wrote if they get some new information and researched.

In your writing clarity can also be achieved if you know your reader. The readers decide the content they love. You can ride the genre or language as per your reader’s choice.

Do not limit your content in rigidity. Most of the subjects academically has rigid outlook but in creative writing, it may ruin the emotions or expressions of your writing. Creative writing should be expressed freely. It must have clarity of expression. It should be sensitive to you and to your readers. But you should also not think that people will not ask question on your writing. This type of thought is the enemy of clarity. Great writers engross in themselves, write their statement, asking their questions and answering their own questions.

One of the great medium of communication for human being is language. It is different for different people. So a standard language with correct grammar is not enough. You need to use dialects, idioms and slang in your creative writing. Most of the writers recognise the quality of their thoughts and freedom of their expression, are good at watching it with their writing style. Any writer who has an idea to write and have clarity in his thoughts, he can write the content the most satisfying to his readers.
