BOOK REVIEW: ON WRITING
On writing is a book written by Stephen King. This book is based on creative writing. I read this book in almost eighteen hours not continuous. This book is based on biography of Stephen King and some parts divided for collection of tips for aspiring writers. This book is very grateful for aspiring writers. This book is New York best seller as it shares the experience, habits and convictions that have shaped Stephen King and his writing. It also comprises practical view of the writer’s craft, the basic tools of the trade every writer must have.
I wanted to buy this book from so many months. I even downloaded it’s softcopy and read some pages on my laptop but I did not get a real feel of reading the book. I got this book in my birthday. It was given by my loving wife as my birthday gift. I think it is the greatest gift I ever get. I was very excited to read this book and I can say this now with full confidence that I should have read this book two years before when I started writing to get skilled. I also recommend this book to those who love write. This book is amazingly structured, very friendly and inspiring. It empowered me and entertained me in the field of creative writing and I hope it will work for everyone who reads it.
On writing a memoir of craft is a book written by Stephen King. Here he describes his experiences about writing and tips for aspiring writers. The book is written in five chapters. In ‘CV’ chapter he writes about events in his life that influenced his writing. In ‘What Writing Is’ chapter is suggest to take writing seriously if you want to be a writer. In ‘Toolbox’ chapter he writes about English grammar. In ‘On Writing’ chapter he writes about his advice to aspiring writers. In ‘On Loving’ chapter he writes about his roadside accident and how it affected his career and life.
Stephen King is an American author. He was born in Portland, Maine in 1947. He is an author of supernatural fiction, horror, suspense, crime, science fiction, fantasy, novels. His books have been sold more than 350 million copies. His so many books have been adopted into films, television series, miniseries and comic books. He received Bran Stoker Award, World Fantasy Award, and British Fantasy Society Award.
